REDList Solutions (4690World, LLC d.b.a. REDList Solutions) and its team have worked on IBM and Toshiba retail POS systems since the late 1980s, starting on IBM 4680. Today that experience goes into the REDList ELERA Portfolio, software that helps ACE retailers and their Toshiba partners move to ELERA without rip-and-replace.

Our heritage

From IBM 4680 to ELERA

  1. Late 1980s

    IBM 4680

    Our founder's work on the platform begins on IBM 4680 at PACE Warehouse, a warehouse club running IBM's General Sales Application (GSA), with training from IBM in Raleigh.

  2. Early 1990s

    IBM 4680 retail projects

    With an IBM professional services partner, 4680 work for Lowe's, Walmart (including time on-site), and a number of other IBM 4680 retailers.

  3. 1992–1996

    POS software development

    Programming on the POS software of Post Software International (PSI), a system supported at Kmart.

  4. 1996–2004

    Kmart and IBM Supermarket Application

    In November 1996 signed a contract with Kmart Corporation to help implement IBM Supermarket Application (IBM SA), beginning roughly eight years of work on Kmart's POS. 4690World, now REDList Solutions, took shape during that engagement.

  5. 2005

    4690World, LLC

    The company is formally registered as 4690World, LLC, today doing business as REDList Solutions.

  6. 4690

    IBM 4690 and Toshiba TCxSky

    REDList builds tools for stores running IBM 4690 and, under Toshiba, TCxSky.

  7. ACE

    Toshiba ACE

    Years of work in ACE data: TLOGs, item files, operators, and reports, including TLOGic and ACE Reports.

  8. Today

    ELERA

    The REDList ELERA Portfolio carries ACE stores forward into ELERA without rip-and-replace.

Tools built along the way

Over the years REDList built tools that retailers and partners used to see, move, and make sense of 4690 and ACE data, including TV++ (TLOG Viewer and ACE INI Pack), TLOG Parser, RIO (4690 Remote I/O), RIO Grande, the Keyed File Utility, the POS Integration Server for eCommerce on ACE, Green Receipts, and Signature Capture.

TV++, our best-known tool, has been licensed by retailers and technology companies around the world, including IBM, Walmart, Kmart, Kroger, Costco, and Toshiba itself, and IBM referenced TV++ in its own documentation.

30 years ago, we bet on data. Today, we are betting on AI.

  • Our sales lead has worked alongside our founder since the early 1990s and brings more than 30 years in retail POS.
  • A senior engineer spent more than 25 years at Kmart working on its in-store processor (ISP) and POS systems, and today supports a Tier 1 grocer with thousands of stores.
  • Finance leadership brings a background in manufacturing IT and ERP systems (Pansophic).
